Chaplaincy Services

The Department of Chaplaincy Services was established in 1978 to support and advance the mission of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center to provide quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. Since 1992, the Department of Chaplaincy Services also supports the Hospital’s educational mission through its accredited Clinical Pastoral Education Program.

The Department of Chaplaincy Services is a referral service. Chaplains provide spiritual care and counseling to patients and families of all ages upon request. The department routinely receives referrals from doctors, nurses, other clinical service providers, clergy, patients, and family members.

Department offices are located on R-1, adjacent to R-Building elevators. To contact a chaplain, call Chaplaincy Services, or simply call 610-988-8000 and the Hospital operator will assist you.
