The Reading Hospital’s Center for Pain Management provides a comprehensive range of treatments for non-malignant chronic pain. In the center, anesthesiologists and specially trained nurses offer several different types of procedures with a referral from a primary care physician. Procedures are performed to treat back and neck pain that does not respond to initial treatment, certain types of headaches, spinal stenosis, Herpes Zoster (shingles), reflex sympathetic dystrophy, and nerve damage.
Treatment methods and procedures include: injection of steroids or other medications, physical therapy, biofeedback, and medication management. In addition, the center provides neurolysis, spinal cord stimulators, and implantable drug administration systems.
