Preliminary Medicine

The Reading Hospital Residency Program in Preliminary Medicine offers the flexibility to fully prepare the intern for subsequent training in anesthesiology, radiology, neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology, or radiation oncology. Tied closely to the Hospital's highly competitive Transitional Year program, the training year offers intense hands-on experience, assuring the development of competence in efficient, complete medical care to patients with a full spectrum of illnesses; it also has the flexibility to allow a wide breadth of experiences in the areas that will interface most commonly with the individual's future specialty.
