The School of Clinical Laboratory Science was established in 1934 as The School of Medical Technology. It is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The usual class size is four students per year, although faculty committee reserves the right to modify the class size due to circumstances in any year. It is located on the main Hospital campus.
The clinical laboratory is an integral part of any healthcare facility. It provides the physicians with information helpful in diagnosing and treating their patients. It is because of the importance of the work that a continuous need for qualified personnel exists.
The mission of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program is to develop people who have a professional attitude, a solid foundation in the scientific principles involved, proficiency in the performance of laboratory procedures, and who are well prepared to take on the professional role of a healthcare practitioner. The Program also has a goal to fulfill the need for high quality clinical laboratory practitioners for our Hospital and our community.
