The Friends of The Reading Hospital

The Friends of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center is an organization for men, women, and teens who are passionate about improving the quality of health care in Berks County by volunteering and raising funds to support new Hospital services.

The Friends provide educational videos for parents of newborns; survivor kits for victims of rape; books for children in Pediatrics and Children's Health Services; craft activities for adolescents in the Spruce Pavilion; and t-shirts for babies born at The Reading Hospital.

The Friends are raising funds for the following projects:

• a Healing Garden, a sanctuary of plants and water features for patients and their families
• an inpatient Discharge Center to provide a comfortable transition from Hospital to home
• a new Gift Shop that perpetuates the Friend's fundraising efforts while providing convenient access to gifts of cheer for hospitalized individuals
