The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences Discover Nursing Program is a four-day experience designed to give prospective students a chance to work with nurses within the Hospital. You may get a chance to observe an operation or emergency care nursing, or experience nursing in the maternity, pediatrics, or medical-surgical areas.
The Discover Nursing Program is open to students entering either their junior or senior year of high school who have a grade point average of at least 3.0.
Students wishing to participate in the Discover Nursing Program must verify good school attendance and punctuality, immunizations and medical record, and present two letters of recommendation from teachers or other non-related adults. There is no cost for this program. Lunch and uniform scrubs will be provided to each applicant.
In order to assure that participants receive the full benefit of the Discover Nursing Program, participation is limited to 12. Selection of qualified applicants is made on a first-come, first-serve basis.
